Foundation for the studying and disseminating of the principles of Parliamentarism and Democracy
The exhibition highlights the way the ancient Athenian democracy legislated and supervised the application of law. From the study of voting and citizen participation in the governing procedures of the country-state, ideas emerged which inspired the Renaissance and constitutional legislators of 18th century United States and France. They were ideas which, among others, led to the formation of today’s democracies.
