After an effort of two years by the Heraklion Chamber and local producers of souvenirs, the “Cretan Hands” logo is a fact.
It’s about an innovative – on a national level – achievement which secures the revenue of added value and differentiation of local products to the imported ones.
The logo is a result of the action started at the request of the manufacturers of Cretan Crafts to divide Cretan production from imported imitations.
The logo is now a globally copyrighted symbol and is now being checked and distributed to the appointed creators.
Through this activity a cluster branding procedure is set in motion to gather the healthy forces of the market around a common logo with specifications of quality, strong promotion and specific criteria.
The four Chambers of Commerce in Crete already embraced the effort and help in the materialisation and distribution of the logo in the four municipalities.
Yesterday, Tuesday, 14 April, the Chairman of the Heraklion Chamber, Mr. Manolis Alifierakis informed the Regional Governor Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis and asked the Region for its support and for the logo to receive pancretan acknowledgement.
Mr. Arnaoutakis expressed his full support for the effort of Chamber while there were discussions about the next actions and the creation of a company managing the logo, based on business criteria in order for the business and creators of Crete to receive the maximum benefits.
Very soon the creative of the logo, which has been crafted by the Communication and Branding Specialist Antonia Skaraki, will be presented along with the basic requirements for the distribution of the logo, after study which has been devised by the Chamber relating to the managing and distribution of the logo.
